Spotlight Players

Ndamukong Suh (DT - Nebraska) - The announcers of the Texas/Nebraska Big 12 Championship game did a great job of emphasizing how dominant Suh was. Suh had 4.5 sacks and over 10 tackles. His dominance allowed his fellow defensive linemen to penetrate more which put more pressure on McCoy and made it extremely difficult to run in between the tackles for Texas; which in turn allowed Nebraska to play with 7 DBs for most of the game which in turn left no open receivers for McCoy allowing Suh and the other D-linemen to capitalize on their pressure with sacks and tackles for loss.

Young Quarterbacks - Matt Barkley of USC, John Brantley of Florida, Landry Jones of Oklahoma, Greg McElroy of Alabama, and Tate Forcier of Michigan. Barkley, Jones, and Forcier are all freshmen who gain a valuable year of experience playing in tier one programs. McElroy is a junior, but he came into the season as fresh or raw as any quarterback and is leaving the season as one of the prominent quarterbacks in the nation. John Brantley has played behind Tebow for two years; this learning experience along with his hyped arm should make him a solid leader for the Gators on and off the field next season.
